29 March 2010 Easter

Over the last few weeks I have been spending time with a very mixed group of Christians of different denominations and churches. At coffee break I have asked the same question just to be sociable

"What are your plans for Easter?" and have received so many different answers ranging from ' spending most of my time at Church" to those who are visiting family; and from my friends with no Christian belief who are just enjoying a holiday, to ourselves who will be moving house.

Easter means different things to different people,in our churches it is  the most important  time of the year , and in our commercial world just another sales opportunity.

For me the Easter story is a mystery that I don't try to unravel, how  the resurrection happened defies anything my intelligence and experience can explain- there is no rationality to it, but for me that doesn't matter, the overriding message of this story is of love, the love of God for each one of us. May we feel something of his love and be ready to love others in all we say and do over this Easter time.

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life." John 3 vs 16

Moving house means no internet so thought for the day will be back week beginning 19 April 2010.
