26 January 2010 Many Parts
This Sunday we prayed for church unity,and revisited the wonderful passage in 1 Corinthians 12 vs 12, which speaks of the body being many parts but one body.I love this message, that each one of us is a worthwhile and valued part of the body and has apart to play, and that the body does not function when some parts are left out. It is a message I think which extends well beyond the church and into our society, how well do we value each individual?
"Then let us pray that come it may,
(as come it will for a' that),
That Sense and Worth, o'er a' the earth,
Shall bear the gree an' a' that.
For a' that an' a' that,
It's coming yet for a' that,
That man to man, the world o'er,
Shall brithers be for a' that. "Robert Burns
Yesterday was Burns day and so for the Scots among us, I think the following sums it up well
