21 January 2010 Creation
I was watching a programme this weekend on how chaos is demonstrated in
nature, it is not my usual sort of programme but I became fascinated
because it tried to show how from a few basic mathematical rules the
universe had developed in all sorts of unpredictable ways. The
patterns on sandunes, leaves, even our blood vessels were used to
illustrate the point and they were beautiful.
One of the contributors made the comment that from a religious standpoint one might argue that God had set the whole thing in motion knowing it would develop in unpredictable ways.
Now I confess I am no scientist and I don't really understand the whys and wherefores of creation in scientific terms but it seems to me that the more we learn about our beginnings the more amazing the creator becomes.
"The world and all that is in it belong to the Lord;
the earth and all who live on it are his.
He built on the deep waters beneath the earth
and laid its foundations in the oceans depths." Psalm 24 vs1-2
