Whenever I take a walk down the street in the evening just noweverything looks very pretty, with flashing lights and noddingreindeer, but in the morning I noticed the same walk looks a bit sad asduring the day I can see the wires for the lights and the plastic inthe deer and the colours compared to nature's earthly colour's look abit garish.

 

Sometimes it seems that there are parts of our lives which seemsfine when covered up but under scrutiny, don't hold up so well. One ofthe things advent can make us do if we let it, is really look atourselves, to take time to face up to things, to look at how much welet God direct our lives, whether we do things for him or forourselves, and what motivates us? What do we make a God  in our life?

 

Itis an uncomfortable thing to do , shining a light on our hearts andsouls , much worse than daylight on Christmas decorations, but if wecan face it and make some changes then the prize is coming that littlebit closer to God.
