My daughter has downloaded an application to her phone which gives her a countdown until Christmas, and so for your information at precisely 9.00pm last night, it was 33 sleeps,770 hours,46259 minutes and 2775549 seconds.

 

I was quite intrigued by having the time quantified as it begged the question, how will I spend the next 770 hours.The stores want me not to waste a moment and to get out there buying, and I will do my fair share of that. The supermarkets remind me of the meals I need to prepare for and the feasts I need to have available for the holiday.

 

I enjoy this time of year, but I hope that I will spend a proportionate amount of these hours coming closer to God, reading his word, quietly praying and thinking about this King who came to earth because of God's great love for us.
