When the Israelites were wandering through the desert and reached the edge of the promised land, most of them looked ahead with fear and despair, there were so many people, so many giants already living in the land promised to them, they couldn't possibly take control of it.Their mistrust of God and his will, in spite of being witness to miracle after miracle, made God so angry that he determined most of them would not see the promised land before they die and so they set their own destiny to spend 40 years in the wilderness.
Sometimes it seems as if we are like that, we can choose to trust God's promises and enjoy our lives with confidence and joy i.e the Promised Land or we can choose the wilderness where our worries and anxieties over this life cloud our view and keep us imprisoned.
"The Lord said to Moses,"How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the miraculous signs I have performed among them?" Numbers 14 vs11
