1 November 2009 Stop!

Last week before making the journey to Scotland, I realised I needed toput air in my car tyre and so pulled up at the machine beforeundertaking something of a slapstick comedy routine. I placed my oneand only 20p in the machine and then proceeded to take the little nutoff the tyre. Surprise surprise it doesn't come off that easily and Iwrestled well with it, finally becoming the victor with, I may say, some satisfaction. Only to find as you have probably guessed by nowthat my 20p worth had run out and I was no further forward.

Thatis just one of the many examples of daily life that I rush into filledwith good intention but not much preparation, and, if I am honest, itis often how I start my days. If I had taken a moment to think throughthe obvious, make sure I had enough money, unscrewed the cap beforeputting my coin in, the outcome would have been so much better.
Likewise if I take time to pray, to think about the day ahead, to ask God into all its areas the outcome would be much better.

"The less I pray, the harder it gets; the more I pray, the better it goes."
Martin Luther
