2 October 09 Easy Fix
Listening to some good advice on watercolour painting this week, the
advice was that whenever we hit a problem or something which causes
difficulties, not to look for an easy way around it, but to work at it
and keep trying and gradually we will become a better painter.
That advice stuck with me because I was on the point of abandonning a picture rather than trying to work out where to go next and perhaps learning from my mistake. It is also true with our faith sometimes. We want our prayers answered quickly, and with the right answer please ,according to us. We want the bible to turn open at the very scripture which will give us the timely piece of advice, and most of all we can't understand when bad things happen to us after we have followed the commandments and done everything as we should . I am being a bit tongue in cheek, but you get the idea.
Yet sometimes we don't have answers, or painful events happen to us and God seems silent it would be all too easy to walk away but it is often in these times we grow and really begin to experience a deeper relationship with God. Just like the painting we need to stick with it and become better people for it.
