7 July 2009 Words

Yesterday an ancient manuscript, the 1,600-year-old Codex Sinaiticusmanuscript is about to be put online enabling  millions of scholarsworldwide the opportunity for collaborative research.
I am sure it will be pored over and debated as we try and find out more about the beginnings of Christianity.

For Christians these documents are not just academic materials to beinvestigated, they are so much more for the word of God is a livingword, as he continues to speak to us through it throughout thesethousands of years. Investigating and debating will be fascinating, buthow much more exciting not to see it as a dry text, but as a dialoguewith our creator, a way of living which changes us and our world.

We need not just to hear these words but to do something with them, andmake our lives and this world  this world a better place.

"So then, anyone who hears these words of mine and obeys them is like the wise man who built his house on rock." Matthew 8 vs 24
