6 July 2009 Transformed

On Friday night I listened to my neighbour building a wendy house for his granddaughter, he was working on it until late at night in hot sticky temperatures but there it stands today and the little girls shriek's of delight and chatter are proof, if he needed any, of how much she loves it. I have been fascinated by this garden, because in a few short weeks it has been turned from the usual rectangle of grass and not much else to a wonderful garden. with a small pond, a play area, herb garden and shrubbery, vegetable patch and now the wendy house. It occurred to me last night as I heard him working, that when something is done with love, it is transformed.

Selfishness seems to shrink us and what we are capable of but, but love makes us grow and opens up possibilities. I imagine God works that hard, in our lives, out of love for us, we only need to enjoy and rest in his love as that little girl did.

We love him, because he first loved us. --1 John 4:10
