30 June 2009 Nets
I was reading how Jesus walked along the shore of Lake Galilee, andcalled on Simon and Andrew to follow him, and I was struck by howquickly they responded, the gospel tells us;
"At once they left their nets and went with him"
I on the other hand find it hard to leave my nets, I am tangled up inmy nets and would need about three weeks notice to even consider such amove.
Following Jesus for many of us does not require giving up family and everyday life but it does ask us to put him first in all these things,taking a little time from our schedule to spend in prayer each day,regularly reading his word, and being prepared to follow his will ,evenwhen it takes us from our comfort zone.
"Jesus said to them "Come with me and I will teach you to catch people." At once they left their nets and went with him."
Matthew 4 vs 19-20
