22 June 2009 Slowly
This weekend I have seen two advertising slogans which have caught my
eye. The first was on a Waitrose van and said "Life is too short to
peel carrots"
I confess I do but preprepared salads and veg because sometimes I just don't have the time or the inclination to do it, but I started to muse about what I am rushing towards. This world is all about rushing, we are always hurrying onto the next thing and not taking enough time to enjoy the journey. If I spent the time I saved to use well, taking a little time out for family,or for God then it makes sense, but most of the time I am just rushing on to the next thing, hoping to get it done and then I will relax. But there is never a time when it is all done, there is always a next thing, and we need to learn to stop.
The next was a heading the Sunday paper
"Life begins at 83" I hope life is great at 83, I hope I still feel inspired and full of life, but lets be honest it doesn't begin at 83, it started way back on day one and we have journeyed ever since with each time bringing its own part of our story. Who knows what comes next so lets just enjoy the now whatever age that is.
"This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118 vs 24
