I cannot believe how easily distracted my dog is.
She can be running towards me ears back full speed ahead to get the treat I am holding and suddenly she takes a right turn to sniff goodness knows what or to follow a butterfly. But as I write this I am beginning to question how distracted I am, certainly when I shop I go off in all directions and usually return with something I didn't need. It is absolutely true that I have 150metres of clingfilm in my kitchen because it was there and I keep buying it, so if anyone needs to clingfilm an elephant for the fridge just come to me.
"Let us keep our eyes fixed upon Jesus,on whom our faith depends from beginning to end" Hebrews 12 vs 2
I get distracted from God too, maybe this Sunday I will just miss Church what harm can it do? Or I'll leave my bible reading just now because I have a lot of jobs to catch up on, or I'll phone my Mum later because I would like a little me time.
It occurs to me that maybe everytime I get distracted I too miss the treat, the treat of God's presence and the closeness of his relationship.
