Monday mornings are never the best times in the week, but perhaps today we can breathe again now that we have reached the end of Britain's Got Talent. Like many of us, my children sucked me into watching this show and like may of us it didn't take long to become hooked.

This morning however it saddened me to hear that Susan Boyle has been taken into a clinic suffering from nervous exhaustion. I'm sure I don't know the full story but it does seem once again that someone was raised up by the media just to be shot down.
The fervour of public opinion when we first heard her sing turned nasty last week, and the same tongues which praised, suddenly condemned.
Paul describes the power of our remarks as being like a small rudder driving a large ship, it only takes the rudder to move the wrong way slightly and the ship turns around. What a powerful force we have within us to built up or tear down, and we should be sure we use it wisely.

"Or think of a ship; big as it is and driven by such strong winds, it can be steered by a very small rudder, and it goes where the pilot wants it to go. So it is with the tongue; small as it is it can boast about great things....Words of thanksgiving and cursing pour from the same mouth."
