18 May 2009 Noise
Have you ever stopped to notice how much noise we have in our lives?
I switch the radio on as soon as I come home after the school run, listen to music in the car , text email and that is before I have any real contact with people. It seems there are always voices to listen to and messages and info coming at me.
Then I ask God why he won't answer me. I pray for guidance and direction but it doesn't come, although Women's Hour gives me plenty of advice. I pray for contentment and there is none, but here are some wonderful things in the sales that would make me happy if I only had them. I pray for peace of mind but these debates on MP's expenses just get me madder and madder.
I'm starting to see a pattern here, maybe if I just cut down the information flow a little and took quiet time I would actually hear God's answers to my prayers without drowning them out.
"The Lord came and stood there and called as he had before,"Samuel,Samuel!" Samuel answered,"Speak;your servant is listening."
1Samuel 3vs 10
