6 May 2009 Forever

I was lucky enough this weekend to go to Lyme Regis, a beautiful town on the South west Coast. Most of the time we spent walking on the beach and for me watching the power of the sea as it crashed into the Cobb. Lyme Regis was the setting for one of Jane Austin's famous books "Persuasion", and I can't help but be excited that all these years ago she walked along the same Cobb and watched the same sea crashing onto the beach.

Our lives seem so tentative and uncertain at times, yet I am reminded that the sea came crashing to the shore long before Jane Austin's time and will continue to do so long after my time. We are transitory, God alone and his love lasts forever and never changes, we need to enjoy our short time on earth, and keep our worries and troubles in perspective.
"You have set the earth firmly on its foundations,
and it will never be moved."
Psalm 104 vs 5
